I can feel her excitement in the air.
Giddy. Smiling from ear to ear.
She sits, stands, sits, stands – watching every move I’m making – not wanting me to forget anything.
at last – her spot at the table is ready. black and white newspaper covering the space, sunlight streaming through the windows, brush poised over the array of colors that have each had their turn at being her favorite, and her faded pink valentine cup that has been deemed “the paint cup” for a while now.
the tiny blonde hairs that are all over the place remind me of our conversations…never too long on one subject – just too much going on inside that pretty head of hers…
the blank white page awaits to be filled with any one of those thoughts…where will her imagination take her today? what will be the masterpiece?
although the excitement is tangible, I can see her hesitate – just not sure which image to focus on…which one is the most important to put on her canvas first?
I smile as I see her bite her lower lip, knowing that she has committed, concentrating and finally…beginning to paint.
