Global pulls at my heartstrings.
I can’t think of a time when it didn’t.
Christmastime in a Southern Baptist Church? Videos and talks and prayer articles about the lost around the world? It lit a fire in me from an incredibly young age.
Vacation Bible School in the summer and learning about a Missionary Kid and watching what his/her daily life looked like – only made me dream more about living in Africa.
Serving the God who loves the entire world was never a foreign concept to me. I knew that His salvation was for everyone and I deeply desired/desire to make His name known among all the nations and to the very ends of the earth.
So. What’s a global girl with a global mission doing sitting in Mississippi? Well. I’m desperately pursuing a global God. The One who created every person, the Author of Life, & the Voice that set this globe into orbit and knows the number of cycles it has left.
Mississippi isn’t a waiting place. It’s a part of a nation that needs the Lord. Now, more than ever, we can touch nations from our own town – even our own community.
I can’t sit on my hands and wait for the next opportunity to jump on a plane for a mission trip (although I am ready for that!), I am called to be actively seeking for where He is at work. And there is no doubt that He is at work right here as well as around the world.
Let’s look together today – wherever we are, wherever He has called us to for this day – and let’s share about His love for all peoples.
This is Day 23 of the Write 31 Days Challenge
